Below is an explanation of each warmup sheet, L# is the lesson number it goes to! These are meant to be a 5-10 min time waster that is relevant to the chapter.
L1 - a simple word search, no answer sheet. No backwards words, but has up, down, and diagonal.
L2 - a simple word search, no answer sheet. No backwards words, but has up, down, and diagonal. (font and shape change to change it up)
L3 - a crossword that is using the dialogue in the Lesson. The blank spots are for the missing word, answer sheet included but separate download (sorry).
L4 - a hidden message puzzle using the vocabulary in the Lesson to solve. They have to unscramble the words that can be found in the side bar of their textbook. Then they will take the letters that have numbers to solve the hidden message below. *I usually put a line below that so they answer the message since I make it a question.
L5 - a cryptogram puzzle, they need to fill in the letters to the numbers. !!!!! IMPORTANT!!!!! For this sheet you NEED to write the numbers into the key so they can actually solve it! The answer key included but separate download. I never leave it blank, sometimes I leave out the vowels or some letters to give my students a challenge, but you NEED to fill in the key at least 3/4ths to give them a chance at solving.
L6 - a hidden message puzzle using the vocabulary in the Lesson to solve. They have to unscramble the words that can be found in the side bar of their textbook. Then they will take the letters that have numbers to solve the hidden message below. *I usually put a line below that so they answer the message since I make it a question.
L7 - a medium word search, no answer sheet. No backwards words, but has up, down, and diagonal. (font and shape change to change it up) I found that this font seems to stump my students into think this is difficult and takes them a bit longer to solve.
L8 - a cryptogram puzzle, they need to fill in the letters to the numbers.
L9 - a simple word search, no answer sheet. No backwards words, but has up, down, and diagonal. (font and shape change to change it up)
L10 - a hidden message puzzle using the vocabulary in the Lesson to solve. They have to unscramble the words that can be found in the side bar of their textbook. *While some have the same description, all the sheets are on theme with the lessons! Good luck and I hope these are helpful if you need something to fill extra time.
