I whacked this one up fairly quickly. It is very simple! But it might save someone some time one day.
To stop the kids going for the prime real estate and getting the answer in one, I made them pick a number, then the opposite team answers, then swap. You get more time out of the activity that way. Students realise that they shouldn't choose the middle numbers!
You will need to know the names of all of the animals in Japanese. I had to awkwardly look over at my teacher to see if hedgehog was correct.
Cheers!

Oh this is pretty fun! I can see this being useful for practicing numbers 1-10(or higher if I edit them). What age are you using this with? The numbers make me thing ES but I worry that even my JHS students would not know some of the animal names(or are the animals suppose to be said in Japanese?).
I am in elementary. I used this with my Grade 2 students. They don't really have a specific curriculum so English is just a fun time.
@odafromtajima - It's not crazy important if they don't know what the animals are in English at first. If they answer correctly in Japanese, you can then introduce the name of the animal in English.
You can then review the names of all the animals at the end to see what they remember.
Just wanted to say how much I love this game! It's so nice to have it in case of extra elementary school time, and I've whipped it out so many times these past few months! Thanks for sharing :)
Totally taking this and changing up the animals for my curriculum, thanks for saving me the time!
