Theme Tags

First of all, I want to give a big thanks to Mikayla, who was kind enough to send in a listing of the textbook topics for the Elementary School textbooks Let's Try and We Can. I added the textbooks to the textbook page and Elementary School page, so you can check those out to see if there are any relevant activities to what you're covering at the moment.
It would be fair to say that the site as it stands currently is probably most useful for Junior High teachers, since a lot of the tagging system was built around accommodating grammar points, which tend to be the focus of lessons at that school level. Mikayla pointed out that Elementary lessons often focus around specific vocabulary, so it would be useful to be able to find activities based on them as well. I made a new category of tags called "Themes" and linked the relevant ones to the textbook entries for Let's Try and We Can. Now it should be easier to share and find activities based on these themes, or any others that we add in the future. I'm hoping that as we continue working on the site, it will be a valuable resource for all school levels.
If you're thinking "I already posted an activity that uses one of those themes!" then fear not! Log in, go to your activity, and click on the "Edit Tags" button to edit the activity's tags. You can do this directly without having to submit the activity for re-approval.
In other news, the site has started a Discord server recently as well. It's a little small at the time being, but it's growing! It's similar to the Shoutbox, but you can use it through a desktop app, moble app, or the web site, so it's easy to keep an ear to it and talk with other teachers when you want to. Feel free to stop by!
If you're on the Japanese public school schedule, there's only about 2 months left in the school year. Let's finish the final stretch strong and make next year even better!
