Inspired by cnewhard's 3-hint activity.
1: Put students in groups and play 3-hint quiz game (linked below). Students can write the answer on whiteboards/spare paper. I usually give students more points if they can guess with less hints. My students always enjoy some competition, so this helps motivate them for the rest of the lesson.
2: Next students will make their own quiz! I give my students about 10 minutes to choose their country and let them use their chromebooks to research it (steps 1 and 2 on the worksheet). Make sure students know to keep their choosen country a secret! Once they have finished researching, they can make their own quiz by writing 3 passive sentences (step 3 on the worksheet).
3: It's quiz time! I usually have students practice in pairs, before doing a class mingle (8-10 minutes). However, you could also do this in groups/rotating pairs. Sometimes there are shy students who struggle in class mingle exercises, so it's good to check with your JTE first. If they guess their partner's country correctly they can write 'O' on step 4 of their worksheet. If they guess incorrectly, then they will write 'X'.
4: Feedback time. After quiz time, check to see how many countries they guessed correctly. Whose quiz was difficult? Whose quiz was interesting? If you have time, you can also get a few students to give their quizzes to class.
Have fun and happy quizzing!

I did this with my 3rd years yesterday as a review/warm up to the year. It worked very well and the kids had a lot of fun! It works very well as an intro to Here We Go 3rd year specifically, as the first part of Unit 1 is passive voice and the subject is "schools around the world" so the grammar and theme work perfectly
