Goal – What should participants take away from the seminar?
At the end of the 40-minute presentation, participants should gain practical ways
on how to maximize the use of multi-functional and interactive English bulletin
boards as medium of extending ALTs’ role in the promotion of English language.
Method – Workshop, lecture, etc.?
The presenter will use lecture in sharing his knowledge on the given topic. Also he
will employ group dynamics to assure maximum participation of the participants.
Rationale – How does this benefit our work as ALTs?
Bulletin board display makes learning outside the classroom visible. It serves
multiple purposes and conveys a variety of information. In and outside the
classroom, bulletin boards that make learning visible show what ALTs and
learners’ learning community value, offer opportunities for reflection, help
learners make connections within and across subject matter, and contribute to a
shared body of knowledge. In this way, ALTs can truly create an ideal-teaching
learning environment for students that fosters a sense of belonging to a learning
community.
