My JTE wanted something different from colors and sports so I made this simple interview bingo paper.
0) Print as A4, warm up by writing: What animal do you like? on the board.
1) Hand out the paper, students write their own favorite vegetable, animal and number at the top. They can write in Japanese or English. Repeat the 'What 〇〇 do you like?' many times.
2) They must do janken with others around the room. Winner asks the question, loser must answer. Do a demonstration for the students.
3) Winner asks: What animal/vegetable/number do you like? Loser must answer. Then swap.
4) After the 8 minute timer rings, get the students to sit down.
5) I like to do a vote on the most popular number (0-9). Students raise their hand for each number. Teacher: "Do you like 2?" ect.
Just a very simple interview bingo to get the kids walking and talking. If you want you can print a paper with the students name in English so that they can write them down in the name section.
