South African English Board

a simple poster showing some of the differences between South African schools and Japanese schools

I came across a fellow South African ALT`s version if this and decided to do my own.

The PDF contains the poster, some accompanying images and QR codes to some videos that showcase south african snacks.

I tried ny best to make the language simple. There are also Japanese translations.

I also printed out the South African school calendar and asked my JTE to add the kanji for weekends, School days, Special School Holidays and kanji for Term 1,2,3 and 4

I love it. Just a point, it should be "South African" with the A being capitalised in the LUNCH section.
Also, are the arrows and flags used on the board itself to point to the pictures to state which represent which country?
I might be borrowing this for my boards next year and changing a few things!

Thanks for picking that up. Yes the arrows are there to point at the pictures that relate to each section. I will try to update the file.

Thanks for catching that. I was encouraged by your version so please feel free to use it.

I have updated the file, I also removed one of the youtube video links ‘German tries South African snacks` because there was an unsavoury word at the beggining.

      • The Country flags can be place on either sides of the blank spaces where the question is found what is the same....
      • Pictures can be placed around the poster where the relevant information is found or maybe just as a collage its up to you!

Thanks for this! I've literally not told anyone about the Hi-Ace being used as a taxi. Don't know why. Hahaha. Feel free to attach a photo of how you set it up on your board...
