My Elementary school kids LOVE this game but it's playable with any age group.
Choose students at random. Each person gets one turn. They can choose to either open a new gift OR steal a gift that's been opened already.
(For the sake of time, I've made a restriction: each gift can only be stolen once)
If a student's gift was stolen, it's their turn again and they can choose to steal or open a new gift.
It's just a fun game of chance where everybody wins something. :-)
I always let the homeroom teacher/JTE get a turn, too.
Lastly, if a student doesn't like their gift, I usually spend MY turn stealing their gift so they get a second chance to find something they like.
The attached PowerPoint has instructions in both English AND Japanese.
NOTE: all gifts are BEHIND the wrapped box photos! To reveal aka "open" each gift, simply move that box aside (I use Ctrl + Shift + Down)
Remember to reset the slide between classes so the gifts are hidden!
I have three slides currently but you can always add more, change the gifts, etc.
Nice activity! Btw, you can make it so that when you click the presents, they disappear.
On a separate slide.
Click the present>Add Animation>Disappear (or any from the Exit animations)>Trigger,On click of (click the image name)>Copy the image back into the main slide>Select the image and use Animation Painter to copy the animation on the other presents.
