The grammar point:
I want you to (Verb), as well as [_____ told me to (verb)]
usually found in end of 2nd grade or start of 3rd grade texts.
I made a Robot Command activity.
- Break kids into pairs. They use a different colour pen to check off the box when they are done. 2 Hand out the print (1 per pair) and practice the vocab to clarify anything. The goal of the game is to get all of the boxes checked off.
- Kids janken (in English)
- winner chooses the command and says "I want you to ______." and the loser must comply because they are a robot and must repeat the command as "(winner) told/asked me to ______"
- winner checks off the box in their own colour and the game proceeds again with another round of janken.
- Whoever has the most checked boxes wins
Bonus, if you are not a shy person or have a few outgoing students, challenge them to make their own idea and janken with you in front of the class. ex. sing opera or walk like a monkey
p.s. if the font is strange I apologize. I used the WeCan handwriting font. please change as you need.
edit: I added the pdf, hope it looks better
Looks fun! Since you used a downloaded font, could you upload a PDF version of your document? The Word doc formatting looks a bit weird without the same font.
Hey, this looks really fun. Do you have the lesson plan that you have used? I'm struggling to think of a 50 min lesson plan.
