Our JHS now has tablets for each student so we can use more technology in the classroom. Kahoots are a fun way to increase interaction!
This activity requires you to have a monitor that the whole class can see and a tablet for each student or each pair (I did this in pairs so they can help each other). You can play the quiz in "classic" or "team mode". Team mode allows the class a few extra seconds to discuss the question before the answers appear. However, I play in classic mode as it has 1 less step when entering team names.
Once you open the quiz on your computer, a pin will display which each student/team will enter to access the quiz on their device. I get them to name themselves with their own name/names of the pair for ease of recognizing who is on the leaderboard.
From there, it's just a matter of controlling the computer. I recommend practicing before you do this in class.
