Let's Try 3rd grade END OF YEAR JEOPRADY
I made this game to review the year in an exciting and fun way. There is a lot of Japanese but I thought it would help the third graders to understand and for questions to move quickly.
I use coloured paper that represents the powerpoint quiz; one paper with the unit and number and 4 papers to represent the points.
It's best to put them on the board before class or at the very beginning.
The PowerPoint points don't disappear so it helps the students understand what questions are remaining.
First it's best to get students to move into groups. students either choose a representative or the hancho of the group comes to the front.
They then play rock, paper, scissors to decide the order that the groups choose their questions.
Before jeopardy can begin, it's best to explain how it works. Each unit has four questions, the most difficult question has the highest points. Students should figure out what question they want before their turn so as many questions as possible can be asked. After a group answers their question correctly the paper points are given.
It's best to also get the students who aren't answering the question, to echo the answers.
