Students quiz each other about the days of the week related to their weekly schedules so that they can be familiar with the words for the days of the week.
[Examples of the quiz]
Example 1: The presenter shows the schedule to the class. Either stream their schedule through the Digital TV's camera, Use an iPad and mirror it to the TV, or use a flashcards of activities and days of the week and place them on the board according to the schedule.
I like sports very much. This is my schedule.
On Monday, I play soccer.
On Tuesday, I play baseball.
On Wednesday, I swim.
On Thursday I play basketball.
On Friday I play dodgeball.
On Saturday I play volleyball.
On Sunday I play table tennis.
Let’s play “Youbi Quiz”.
No.1 Today I swim. What day is it?
No.2 Today I play volleyball. What day is it?
When answering, you can do variations like:
1. Play touch game on the board. Students race to the board and touch the Day's flashcard
2. Karuta game
Example 2: The presenter does not show his/her schedule. This Focuses more on Listening. I made a worksheet for this type. See the attached file below.
- A students cites her/his schedule in front of the class.
- The class then take notes and write it on the worksheet.
- The student in front then does the Youbi Quiz.
