There are several types of challenges;
What's this? Questions: There are close-up pictures of objects. Students must guess what it is using "I think (that) it is a ______."
What will he/she do? Questions: There is a photo of an animal/person. Students must guess what they will do from 3 options using "I think (that) he/she will _______." The answer is revealed with the GIF on the next slide.
Who am I? Questions: One volunteer student will come up to the front of the room and face the blackboard. You will choose one student in the class to say "Who am I?" and the volunteer student will guess who it is using "I think (that) you are ______."
The class really enjoyed it! I just had them raise their hand if they wanted to try answering. If they are shy, they may not want to try, so maybe you will have to call on students. You can even put them into teams.
I like this! I especially like the Who am I? bit at the end!
I did this with my second-grader students! I had them sit in groups to discuss with each other, and then ask them individually what they thought. I had them practice saying aloud their answer, too. They also had a lot of fun with the Who am I bit at the end! Some kids liked to repeat or change their voice to make it more challenging!
Big thank you for this. I had a lesson for this unit dropped on me with very short notice and didn't have anything already made or enough energy for spontaneous creativity.
The students enjoyed it a lot and the animal gifs got great reactions. Again thanks for sharing.
@AltSamIAM Oh, that's always stressful! I'm glad the activity was useful to you!!
I think (that) I like this very much! I will use it this week, thanks for the idea and great ppt.
This is primo. Thanks!
thank you for this!
