Hey all,
I made this "Christmas spin the wheel" game for my JHS sannensei. I think it could also work for ninensei, and ichinensei with some help from the JTE, and lower level HS classes.
It's basically a Christmas game centered on Santa, some American traditions, as well as some questions for the students to answer about themselves. I'm not Christian so I wanted to do a non-Christianity centered activity that still remains in the Christmas spirit!
Feel free to copy the activity and make it your own. There are a total of 25 questions/wheel segments, with some that can be used multiple times (i.e. "What do you do on Christmas?"). Other questions you will have to press "eliminate" after they have been answered. Some questions are YES/NO, and some are multiple choice. The attached document are the multiple choice options I gave (A, B, or C) for the relevant questions.
I split my classes into groups of 3-4 students, so I usually had about 8 groups. I did this activity for the second part of a 50 minute class and we were able to get through two rounds.
If possible, I would project it on the TV but have a member of the group come up to spin the wheel when it's their turn. Alternatively, you can spin the wheel for the groups. I let other groups steal the question if the first group didn't answer correctly.
My classes had a lot of fun with this. Especially when they landed on "Say Merry Christmas in a funny voice" and I made them come up to the front to do it.
