I remember singing "The Ghost of John" in music class as a kid and it is still a fun and creepy song. But the usual version, which focuses on singing in rounds, doesn't really mesh with the language goals of what I do at my junior high. If you're teaching elementary school, I'd stick with the short and simple version.
