Halloween Games

5th and 6th graders Elementary students. Included files are power points for vocabularies and docs for the activities.

Good day! This is my first time sharing here. Thank you

  1. Introduction to Halloween

    • Begin by showing a short, engaging video about the history of Halloween.
    • The video should cover:
      • The origins of Halloween, including its roots in ancient festivals.
      • Key symbols associated with Halloween (e.g., pumpkins, costumes, trick-or-treating).
      • How Halloween is celebrated in different countries today.
  2. Vocabulary Drill (PowerPoint)

    • Introduce Halloween-related vocabulary on a PowerPoint presentation.
    • Include pictures to illustrate each word, making it easier for students to remember.
  • Examples of vocabulary to include:

    • "Pumpkin"
    • "Costume"
    • "Ghost"
    • "Witch"
    • "Spider"
    • "Candy"
  • Drill pronunciation as a group and individually to ensure comprehension and correct pronunciation.

  1. First Activity Options
 - Matching Game: Prepare cards with vocabulary words on one side and pictures on the other. Have students match the word cards to the correct picture cards.

 - Halloween Word Search: Create a word search puzzle using the Halloween vocabulary words. This helps reinforce spelling and recognition.

Feel free to edit, correct or change anything. Thanks!
