This is an activity I made for a larger lesson plan for JHS 1st years.
Each student gets a "Version A" or "Version B" of the worksheet. Version A has the answers to Version B, and vice versa.
Students have to find who has their corresponding answers and ask, "Do you know XX?" from Unit 7.
If the student responds, "Yes, I do", they should ask "What is XX doing?", then write the answer.
They are only allowed to ask a student one question. Meaning, if they find someone with the corresponding version, they can't keep asking them answers to different questions. They're meant to speak to at least 7 people. There's also a bonus answer that only I have, so they have to talk to me ;) (this is so I can make sure they're doing the activity correctly....)
If you want to extend the length of the game, you can add the rule that they have to play janken before asking. The winner can ask, but the loser can only answer. That way, someone who loses frequently has to talk to many people.
In the end, we check the answers together as a class. Each regular answer is worth 1 point. The bonus answer is worth 5. Students who get 12/12 get a round of applause.
Attached are .docx and PDF versions of A, B, and the key.
Good activity. In a large class, you are going to have some students cheating by copying down all of the answers that they can. Nonetheless, it is a good activity as it gets students up and moving.
@TylerS Yeah, my class is huge so it's inevitable lol. That's why I have them come up to me and ask the bonus question. They can still cheat, but they're less likely to that way.
