Instructions:
Hand out the worksheet to all the students. It features 10 clubs and jobs and is designed as a rock-paper-scissors race activity. (Don't really have a specific name for this activity)
How it works:
Students will race from the first club and job on the list to the last one.
Everyone should stand up and walk around to find a partner.
Using the target phrases, students will take turns asking and answering the questions:
"What club do you want to join?" → "I want to join the ___ club."
"What do you want to be?" → "I want to be a ____."
One student will ask the questions, and the other will respond. Afterward, they will switch roles.
Both students must answer based on the first club and job listed on their worksheets.
After completing the dialogue, they will play rock-paper-scissors.
The winner moves on to the next club and job, while the loser stays on the same one.
Each student then finds a new partner and repeats the process.
Only the winner of rock-paper-scissors can advance to the next club and job.
Initially, give students 5 minutes to see how far they progress. Check how many students reach the finish.
If many students struggle to move forward (e.g., they get stuck on the first club and job), consider extending the time.
To prevent students from getting stuck for too long, you can introduce a rule: If a student loses twice in a row, they can move on to the next club and job anyway.
Simple and easy to use. Thanks!
