I want to go to London

Working in groups of 4-5, students will choose somewhere they want to go, give their reasons and present at the end of class.

I show the Powerpoint "I want to go to London."
I've tried to include some pretty unique and interesting places!

Working in groups of 4-5, students will choose somewhere they want to go, give their reasons and present at the end of class.

If the students have access to tablets, they can use these to research destinations.
If not, we hand out some travel brochures for inspiration, or they can think of their original ideas.

We give them a short time to discuss as a group, decide on a place, then together they either create a poster and/or write 3-5 sentences on where they want to go and why.

For the last 15 minutes or so, each group presents their ideas to the rest of the class.
Each member of the group must have a turn speaking.

Can be easily tweaked for other grammar points.
ie: I have been to London, You should go to London, You can ~ in London etc, I was in London, I visited London etc.
