Give each student a copy of the worksheet. It can be played either in pairs or small groups. Give each group a dice.
Before rolling the dice, students guess what number they will roll. If they guess correctly, they get a bonus point.
Using the number they rolled, the students can make sentence (ie. if they roll a 3 - I have been playing tennis since 2016.)
After they have said their sentence, they can get one point.
This is an "endless" board game, so there is no goal. Instead, students can also get two bonus points if they pass "Start."
If a student lands on the "Start/Free" square, they can make their own original sentence.
When your game time is up, students tally up their points to determine the winner. Easy!
The idea of a boardgame they can keep going around collecting points until the time limit is reached is great.
Thanks. The original idea came from a co-worker, and I've adapted it over the past few years. It's easily adaptable, and the kids seem to get a real kick out of guessing what number they will roll.
This is great for pair work practice! Thanks for this!
Gave this to my super quiet 3rd grade class and they really enjoyed it!
