For this activity, students should be familiar with country names and things they can do in said country.
The worksheet includes an interview table, model skit, word box (see, eat, drink, visit, buy) and writing practice.
The ALT and HRT should demonstrate once or twice before they begin.
First, students fill out their own answer in section "0". Give them time to practice by themselves. Then, using the model skit as a template, students walk around the room and ask each other which country they'd like to visit and why, filling out the worksheet as they go along.
Notes:
- When I did this activity, students had the option to use their textbook and/or laptops to aid their search.
- The "Writing Practice" section was used as a separate activity. I asked students to choose a different country and reason to go there, then draw it on the index card (flag on one side, reason on the other). Once they were finished, they did a short volunteer-based presentation.
I've included both a pdf and PPT version so you can edit the worksheet as needed!
Great worksheet, but as a bit of advice, I would recommend using a font like Comic Sans in the future. Elementary students can get confused about the lowercase “a” because it looks different when it’s written and typed. Fonts like Comic Sans will help teach students to use the correct “a” for writing practice.
I agree with @zdahlagren but the strokes of comic sans font is a bit informal. You may also use UD デジタル fonts if you also prefer formal writing strokes. :)
