MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • LettersToHakuho attachment: Print out one copy of the provided words list for each group and put each set of words into an envelope, mixing them up as you put them in. (before you print it, change "ALT" and "JTE" to their respective names)

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

  • After splitting the students up into groups, of 4-6 students, the groups are given about ten minutes to come up with funny or interesting sentences using the 'it...for...to' structure: "It is fun for Hakuho to wear makeup."
  • After the students have had some time to create their sentences, have them write as many of their sentences as they can on the board.
  • Have each group read their sentences to the rest of the class, giving credit to any sentence that's particularly funny or interesting.

So fun! My students had a great time making sentences about the JTE.
I tacked on some "free" slips of paper that way the possibilities were endless.
