Some more conversation cards, this time using countries.
These were made with JHS 1st grade in mind, using "Where do you want to go?" "What do you want to do?" "I want to ________." dialogue. There are arranged with the name of the country and two random things you can do/eat/see/try/etc etc.
There 36 different countries - most of the countries I pulled from the New Horizons Picture Dictionary.

Thanks for sharing and including my country.
These are SO CUTE and nicely designed. Simple and so many ways to use them. Thanks for having such a big variety, that's really important!!
I would suggest two changes. Tom yum kung, AFAIK, is typically called tom yum or tom yum soup in English. "Ger" might be the Mongolian word, but in English those tents are called yurts.
I also have two changes to suggest after looking through the pretty cards.
It would be changing the country to The Philippines, since the country is a bunch of islands so it is more accurate to refer to it as so. Thanks!!
The other is for building names, just to add "the" in front when necessary so students know to include it when making a sentence, ex: to see THE Statue of Liberty, to visit THE Eiffel Tower, to climb THE Great Wall. I am going to add these just by handwriting after printing :D
And I appreciated the suggestions from the person above. I didn't realize those things!
Thanks for including the Philippines!
Forgive me for nitpicking though, but we usually spell Philippines (the country) with an "s" at the end. When talking about things that are made or found in the Philippines however, we call them "Philippine _____". For example, Philippine bananas or Philippine eagle. Hope this helps!
That "kung" in Tom yum kung means prawns.
Tom Yum without the "kung" it means just spicy soup in Thai (Tom Yum pla is spicy soup with fish, etc).
Now that I've used the cards in class (with JHS 2nd years), I just want to say that they loved this! The variety of cards really makes it fun to see what you'll get next. I ran a pair talk where they had to trade cards at the end of the convo. I hope to find more ways to use this in the future!!! I handwrote some changes, but if I get a chance I will make an updated version and give credit to the original maker (thanks again!)
And also thanks to recent commenters. I learned a lot of new things from y'all!
Thanks for the input, I made a few changes and reuploaded the file! I don't have a lot of desk warming time - so I might have missed some stuff, just a warning!
