Hello all. After the amount of success I've had with my English Riddles game, I wanted to try making a version that my visiting school students could do. This is at a technical high school, so English isn't really one of the subjects they are heavily tested on. My visit school students have a wide range in English ability (from none to native; I got a couple American kids) and they tend to be uninterested in anything that involves a worksheet/"traditional schoolwork". They do, however, enjoy English word games and puzzles.
The rules are the exact same as the other version, but this one has more obvious picture hints and Japanese. Depending on the level of your students, your JTE may need to translate the riddles into Japanese. However, I tried to use simple English so maybe they won't need it. I also tried to include the answers in Japanese (I used DeepL so I'm sure it's not right lol). If you notice anything is wrong or have a better translation, please let me know! My Japanese is non-existent, but I wanted to include it in some way.
Mega arigathanks for your interest in my activities and as always, let me know if you have comments or suggestions! :3
Good stuff!
This was great! Just enough hints with the pictures to help out. The JTE had to translate a lot, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many of my students got at least close to the answer, and that they really put some thought into it! Even used it over two periods! Easy no-prep game, thanks!
