In the 2nd grade Sunshine textbook in JHS, one of the programs introduces Stevie Wonder and his heroes, Martin Luther King Junior and Nelson Mandela.
Since the information in the book is quite limited, my JTE asked me to make a presentation to explain more about who Stevie Wonder is and why he respects MLK and Nelson Mandela.
When I present these slides, I read the sentences on the slides and then rephrase them again in different words.
If I have time in the future, I will add some speaker notes.
For the true or false questions, I normally just have the students show me their answers by making hand signs.
A circle for true and an X for false.
There are 3 slideshows and I present them over a period of 3 lessons. Just going through the slides takes about 15 minutes for each one. But depending on how much your JTE needs to translate or expand upon, it might take longer.
Feel free to copy the slideshows and make any adjustments you see fit.

Notes:
I'm neither American nor South African, though I did grow up in Europe as a child of African immigrants.
Also, understanding the history of racism, colonialism, and racial struggles is already hard, let alone needing to learn about it in a foreign language as a 2nd-grade JHS student in Japan.
Therefore, I tried to simplify it as much as possible. ( for example not talking about Malcolm X and claiming white and black South Africans have been equal since Nelson Mandela became president etc.)
Also, I'm also open to any tips or constructive criticism.
You pitched your presentations at a level that students could understand. It is an informative piece, and I hope some of the students will become curious about the topic and do more research on it. The image on slide 18 (part 3) will certainly spark a discussion given that there were Japanese people advocating for a peaceful society for all. Well done!
As a South African I like the Nelson Mandela slides. There are just some history inconsistencies depending on which sources you look at. For example, the Spanish were in SA before the Dutch, the Dutch just stayed longer. The Great Move (Die Groot Trek) wasn't because white people wanted more land, it was because the descendants of the Dutch and some of the original settlers didn't want to work together and educate the black people. It was a move because of racism, not because of land. But this is irrelevant as Mandela is the focus and his information is correct. I just like sharing my country's turbulent history.
Slide 7 has a grammar mistake of "they were many wars", instead of "there were many wars".
Mandela and Luther King really are great inspirational people. Thank you for these slides!!
