This game is based off of https://www.altopedia.net/activities/2421-spy-x-family-quiz. Not all of my students like Spy X Family so I made a Mario themed one. First, give each student a worksheet. Tell them that you will ask a question, and they must write the correct answer and circle the letter that corresponds to the character of their choice. If their answer is right, they get the points from the character they chose. If not, they get zero points. I sometimes add in negative numbers to switch things up, but I never let the students' points go below zero. The points don't really matter, but the students tend to like it. You can hide the slides that have the points if you don't want to do a points game!
When I want to play this in teams. I give each team a whiteboard and the team works together to write the answer. Then each team reads out their answer one by one and the teams who answered correctly get points.
When adjusting the game for your own purposes, you can change the numbers and questions and also add slides! If you change the points, there is a hidden slide at the end of the PowerPoint that has the character images. They are already in the right spot to be hidden behind the circular image, so what I do is select the top image and keep sending it backward until I get the one that I want. That way, you only have to copy and paste and you don't have to adjust the size or position of the image. I hope that makes sense.
If you have any questions, just let me know!
