Step 1: Demonstrate the 3 hint quiz with the students using the provided model. Modify it to your liking.
Step 2: Give the students the worksheet. Let them use their dictionaries, Chromebooks/tablets, textbooks, and other resources to make a 3 hint quiz.
Step 3: Students can either quiz a partner, a group, (less time consuming) or they can share their quizzes with the whole class (more time consuming, but it is good speaking practice for everyone and a chance to listen to them for some light, on-the-spot assessment) when they are finished.
It's important to walk around and help the students. This also keeps them on task. I did this with one of my mixed-ability classes, and it worked out really well.
