Passive Voice memory game

Memory and match card game plus worksheet

A no-headache, simple practice of Passive Voice for JHS 2, One World. Group activity.

After reviewing, demo the game with the projector. It is a memory, flip and match game. I demonstrate with the JTE with only 3 of the cards as example. Show yourselves studying the cards for a limited time before flipping them so we can't see anymore. Pull a sentence card.

Example: This was made in Japan. It is played on Nintendo Switch.
Corresponding picture: Pokemon

Pretend to not remember which card it is and flip it over. Wrong answers means turning it back over, and putting the sentence card back, ending your turn. When a player matches their sentence with the correct card (this case, the card is Pokemon), then the player keeps that pair.

The goal is to match the card with the picture and using their memory skills with them face down to keep them engaged.

I time this for 10 minutes, and let them reshuffle and do it again until time is up.

I then end it with a worksheet, which I attached as well.

There are 12 picture cards, 12 passive voice cards. If there are typically 6 groups per class, make 6 sets!
*I recommend printing the picture cards on thicker paper so they don't show through the back
