Students write about their Golden Week as a way of reviewing all past tense verbs.
For the worksheet:
1. Read the example aloud, once before handing out the sheet, and then once again after. (5 min)
2. Go over the new words and words in the Idea Box on page 15 (they're at the bottom of the worksheet) (3 min)
3. Describe what goes into an essay and give time for brainstorming (15 min)
- Take a look at the "chalkboard" file
- It helps to break it down one at a time - Explain the opening, and then give them time to brainstorm for the opening. Next, explain the body, and then
give them time to brainstorm ideas for the body, and then do the same with the ending.
- I think it also helps to allow them to write in Japanese for their brainstorming if they wish.
4. Time for writing (about 20 min)
