Lesson plan.
- Play the always, usually, sometimes, never chant.
- Ask the students what they usually do at home.
- Go through the vocabulary using the picture dictionary. (Page 20)
- Teach the target sentence “I (always/usually/sometimes/never) (wash the dishes etc).
- Let them know that they will guess how often their teachers and friends do housework.
Worksheet.
Students draw a star if they guess the activity is done always. A circle if usually. A square if sometimes. A triangle if never.
First, they will guess their teachers’ answers. I usually give them a couple of minutes to guess. And then after that, the JTE/homeroom teacher and I will tell them our answers. Afterwards, they can walk around, pair up and do the rest of the activity.

I was looking for a way to implement speaking and listening for this unit and this activity was perfect. Thank you!
My students loved hearing about their teachers' and friends' daily routines, especially when it differed from what they expected.
