What's New?
18/3/2024:
- Fixed the animation for Q1, Q22, Q23 and Q24 (they now disappear after you click on them)
- A sound is played when you finish a question
19/3/2024:
- Made team cards to make it easier to keep track of which teams got the answer correct (used to play the 10 boxes ver.)
21/3/2024:
- Made furigana version for the key phrases and added more instructions in PPT notes.
26/3/2024:
- Made new and smaller team cards, made a new game variation (place your bet), titled every PPT to make it easier to know which one you're playing
How to Play (1 Box Ver.) (RECOMMENDED)
NOTE: This version is simpler and more fast-paced. You can get through a lot more questions by playing this. However, this may be disadvantageous for teams with low-level students depending on the question.
- Make groups.
- All teams answer the question / Only one team answers the question
- Only one team (or fastest correct answer) gets to choose a supply box
- They have three options:
- Take: Take the box
- Give: Give the box to another team
- Share: Share the loot inside the box with another team. Zenny (points) are doubled
How to Play (Place your Bet Ver.) (RECOMMENDED)
NOTE: Out of the 3 versions, this is the easiest for students to understand and play. The Give, Take, Share may be hard to understand especially for younger students.
- Make groups
- All teams answer the question
- EACH team takes turns in choosing a supply box by going to the blackboard and placing their team's palico on the desired lootbox (multiple teams can choose the same lootbox)
- On the PPT, only click on the lootboxes the teams place their bet on.
How to Play (10 Boxes Ver.)
NOTE: This version allows all/most teams to choose a box making it fairer to play. However, you will not go through a lot of questions. You will need to use the team cards to play this. Give each team their corresponding team card, and when they get the answer correct, they give the card to you. Place them on the blackboard beside the scoreboard to keep track on which team got the answer correct/haven't finished answering the question.
- Make groups.
- All teams answer the question
- EACH team takes turns in choosing a supply box
- They have three options:
- Take: Take the box
- Give: Give the box to another team
- Share: Share the loot inside the box with another team. Zenny (points) are doubled
Whatβs inside the supply box?
β»Zenny (Z) = points
- π© Dung = 1 Z
- πΏ Green herb = 100 Z
- π Well-done steak = 200 Z
- π Golden fish = 500 Z
- π Rathalos plate = 1000 Z
- π’οΈ Dragon barrel bomb = The team who gets this loses all their points (if shared, both teams lose points)
- π₯π₯π₯ Rathalos = All teams lose their points
Note:
- Can be used as a warmup
- Rather than 6 teams, it can be played with 2 teams by splitting the class.
- The key phrases are quite important to play the game. I recommend printing and laminating it and then sticking them up on the blackboard during the lesson. However this is optional.
- I made a bunch of questions for JHS New Horizon (2021 Edition) that you can use. It can be found here: https://altopedia.net/activities/4537-new-horizon-question-collection-1-2-3
This is awesome! I love the give, keep or share idea.
I rarely comment on this website but thank you for putting the happy happy cat meme in this game I loled so hard the teachers just stared at me xD
@jiggswalsh Thank you! I actually got the "share" idea from another user on this platform but unfortunately I can't find their post anymore.
@doggyboy I'd like to think I'm up to date with memes with the kids haha
