My elementary school has had their ALT making name lanyards for all the students each year before class starts. I didn't realize this and the previous ALT didn't leave me the template. Here is a template I made on Canva:
https://www.canva.com/design/DAGBzUUrzf4/2epVPnprBigmBRqMMUi9dw/view?utm_content=DAGBzUUrzf4&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link&utm_source=publishsharelink&mode=preview
I suggest having the kids help with cutting edges and knotting the string that will make the lanyard bits. Otherwise you'll be doing this forever alone.
Pro's:
-Kids always have a reference for how to spell their name
-I always look like I know every student/HRT name lol
Con's:
-Kids rely a little too much on it. I THINK my 5th and 6th graders know how to spell their names... but they still use them to check.
These are great! What size paper did you print them on?
I printed these on A3! A4 is a bit hard to read if kids are in the back of the room.
Another side note I just thought of:
Each of my classes uses a different color cardstock too. Reminds me what class they are at a glance. The JTE hung up a bunch of tacks in the English Room and the kids would hang them there instead of carrying them around. But honestly you could just have them put them in their English books too as a sort of bookmark when they arn't wearing them.
Do you laminate them or just print on hard paper? Do they last long cause in my experience kids play or put it somewhere and say "nakushita" I misplace it. Sorry for the many questions.
I love the template you made. It's really helpful.
oh I sent a request to edit the template. I would greatly appreciate it if you can make it editable.
