The 2024 text (New Horizon) for 5th and 6th grade has a listening section. Using only the text the students should write a memo in a space in the text. I feel it is too easy so I use a worksheet that I hope helps students become aware of words and letters and doing a sort of test style sheet.
The worksheet is to be used with the dialogue from the text. You can read it yourself from the teachers book or use the audio from the digi-text.

Wow! These are great worksheets.
This is amazing! Also, small thing I found out yesterday, if you use | while typing with the new horizon font, it will fill in the writing marks instead of leaving a space of nothing between the words. It helps show the importance of spaces for some students!
Liking and adding to my folder for next year. Thank you so much!
We did this today. I felt the speaking of the digital text was fast so I spoke instead and added bits like spelling names.
I love this! Great idea. Hopefully, I can make something like this for Unit 2 for them.
Nice work. I like to try these worksheets next time.
The way I have been using these sheets is to let the students listen twice to the audio only from the digi-text, check the students answers and then let them watch the animation. If the audio is too fast or complicated I ad-lib it it with gestures. (I found for unit 1 of grade 5 the name SOFIA was spelt too quickly.
@Furachan. I guess you can adjust the speed of the audio.
There is a way to speed up or slow down the speaking fo the digitext of New Horizon. It was still too fast...or maybe too much information for the regular students.
We did 6th grade unit 2 starting out today. Some students seem to be mind-boggled about time-zones, but they got it in the end.
