Edit "I'm from (neighborhood) in (town name)." accordingly. You can easily just have them write "I'm from Japan," but we did neighborhood and town for more writing practice. Also, our town uses New Horizon Elementary 5/6 so the information included has all been introduced to the JHS first years.
We spread this out between two classes.
1st class: students filled out their self-introductions, drawing their self-portraits, and practicing their self-introductions to themselves and/or with their seat neighbors.
2nd class: students presented in front of their classmates or one-on-one to the ALT.
students were encouraged to challenge 2-3 presentation tips (Eye contact, Gestures, Facial expressions, Volume, and Intonation.) They had been asked memorize their self-introductions but if they weren't able to it was okay. We demonstrated reading their sheets then looking up from their sheets before speaking.
