This game is a modification of the amazing colors review game made by Grace0103 which can be found here: https://www.altopedia.net/activities/1986-what-color-is-among-us
The powerpoint itself is self-explanatory, I used the beginning slides as a time to teach some of the more niche words like koala etc. and as a time to have the kids practice spelling. Importantly as they did this I was placing a vocab card of each animal on the board so they had quick reference to the accurate spelling. For a challenge you can have them just read and go from memory!
Hand out the "I voted" cards before the quiz itself begins and begin clicking through the slides. If you are trying to drill auditory recall feel free to read the words at the top each round but be careful because the kids will get almost no reading practice if you do this.
For each correct guess I made a tally for that student on the board and gave a sticker to the winner at the end of the game
This can be done in groups though I've only taught it with each student "voting" for themselves. If you have the resources I recommend printing off the "I voted" cards as well so the kids have something physical to interact with through the game, it really boosts participation. However this can absolutely be taught without the cards, just have the kids raise that number of fingers or have them write on a white board.
Happy playing! Please let me know if you have any questions :)
Nice, but be prepared for some kids to call you out for having a chimpanzee picture for the monkey :)
Omg thank you for pointing that out ChibiGojira! I just updated it with a proper monkey picture lol
