I made this Powerpoint to teach high school students how to write a paragraph. This uses the hamburger method. If you've graduated from a North American school system, you should be familiar with it. I originally made this hoping it would help students with the Eiken (aimed at grade pre-2). Unfortunately, I might have been too ambitious as my school's English level is a bit lower. Nonetheless, I tried to use graphics and color to make it easy to understand. I hope you'll find it useful.
I'll also attach a word document. It contains a bunch of sample paragraphs in response to Eiken pre-2 writing prompts. I printed it out, cut up the sentences, and had the students rearrange it to follow the hamburger format. The students seemed to enjoy that even if they did not understand the lecture part. Best done in groups so they can work together to solve it. Once they're done, just have them put it back in the envelope and then pass it to the next group.
This is such a great presentation . Thank you so much. This is so helpful.
I completely forgot about this and I am glad I had a rush of nostalgia reading about the hamburger method again lol. I help with students writing Pre-2 and 2 and this is a perfect. I even made it a bit easier for some of the 3rd grade Eiken students. It could even help with the writing portions on their mid-term tests and finals.
