What day is it?

An easy game to review the days of the week as well as teach students the meaning of "Tomorrow" and "Yesterday"

Students will get into pairs
The pairs will receive 1 board game
Students will cover the days with a coin or the “days of the week” cards in the book
Make sure you can still see the day names if you use coins
The teacher will choose a day as the starting position.
Students will take a mental note on the starting day
The teacher will then say “Tomorrow”, “Yesterday”, or a new day.
Students will have to mentally move forwards, backwards, or change days depending on what the teacher says.
To add more difficulty, you can speed up the vocabulary after each round.
When the teacher says “STOP!”, the students who grabs the coin (or card) keeps the coin (or card).
The student with the most coins(or cards) is the winner!
Alternative game play
Option 1: You can also have a student shout out “tomorrow”, “yesterday”, or a new day to have more student involvement.
Option 2: You can break students into groups of 4 and have students rotating the leader in which the leader will be saying “tomorrow”, “yesterday”, or a new day.

A Japanese instruction page is also attached to help explain it to your partner! (Note: I used google translate for it, so if it's not perfect, I'm sorry)
