Stationery Go Fish

Go Fish cards with stationery objects on them

I made this for an elementary school class. The topic was stationery items and "Do you have (a pen)?" You could also adapt this to practice "How many ~ do you have?"

We played by traditional Go Fish rules. To prepare the cards, I used a real deck of cards. I cut out the stationery cards and attached each one to a playing card with washi tape. You don't have to do this, but the kids really like using real cards, and it's fun if you choose some cute washi tape. Before we played, I reviewed the question (Do you have (any) ~?) and answers (Yes, I do. / No, I don't.) We also reviewed all of the stationery items.

To make things easier since they were elementary school kids, I also wrote down the question and answers and put it in the center of the group in case anyone needed help. You could also add katakana. They really enjoyed playing this game, and it helped them familiarize themselves with stationery vocabulary.
