Practices common words and phrases that will be used as part of English class.

  • Job Fair.

    This game is to practice I can/ I can't in a real world roleplay setting.

  • Cave of Wonders (NH3 U6 "I wish...")

    Students will work in groups to change prompts into Key Sentence 19 from New Horizon 3's Unit 6. Then, they will play a game.

  • Heads Up!

    Students pair up and have to guess what they are based on their partner's description/clues/hints. Similar to the app of the same name, but I prepared index cards with various words on one side.

  • Luigi's Mansion - Halloween Trick or Treat

    This game is a combination of Jeopardy and point-and-click style games. Ultimately it plays out like review games, but it allows some agency for students.

  • ALT can or can't .

    The slides show different can do/can't do actions using One World smile 5 for ALT teacher. Students guess the right answer about ALT by saying the sentences and get Taiyaki as present.

  • Let's Try 2, Units 1-9, Vocab, Blooket

    Blooket study sets to be used as in-class game activities or assigned as at-home review. Each set covers the vocab learned or reviewed in that unit. You can use any of the Blooket games with these!

  • NH3 U4 pg64 ~ Family Feud / 3年生ファイト

    I played this game with my third year class to get them used to speaking. It also helps with learning extra bits of vocab they might not usually use.

  • Human Bingo (Do you wish you could~)

    A speaking challenge activity that will help the students practice "I wish~" phrases which includes fun and random phrases options (Blue Sky 3 - Target 18)

  • You Must Janken!

    A warmup activity where students get to command each other to do different actions if they win rock, paper, scissors. The goal of the activity is to practice the grammar, "must & mustn't"

  • Pokemon Train Directions Activity (How to get to~)

    A speaking challenge directional activity mixed with the fun of catching pokemons and asking directions from your friends! (Blue Sky 3 - Let's Talk 3)

  • Connect 4 - Subject-Verb Agreement

    In this game, two players take turns shading a grid. The aim is to be the first to create a line of four shaded cells in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

    Students try to identify a class full of slackers by listening or reading descriptions

  • Kahoot! Infinitive (general)

    It is important to learn about AI

  • Guess who game (Who is this?/ who ~)

    A group based trivia activity that includes many character questions from the internet and the book. (Blue Sky 3 - Target 13)

  • Anime Guessing Game - "What are they doing?"

    A fun game great for practicing present continuous/progressive with 1st year Junior High School students using images of different anime characters.

  • I Found Mewo! (Prepositions with Mewo Update)

    An updated version of the "Prepositions with Mewo" PowerPoint with optional "hide and seek" activity with Mewo afterwards.

  • Like Rally 👍 (Speaking Act.)

    Perfect activity to practice any dialogue. Students walk around, find a classmate and practice the dialogue. Once they're done, they can receive a "Nice!" sticker from their partner.

  • Mario Kart English Race 🏎️ (Boardgame)

    Great for reviewing a wide range of things (unit(s), Let's Talk, Enjoy Communication, a specific grammar point, etc.) in a Mario-Kart board game style.

  • Avatar the Last Airbender Class(es)

    This activity is good for an elective class (or any class with a motivation to learn English in my opinion). If you're an ATLA fan, it is also a fun class to teach!

  • Minecraft Diamond Quest💎⛏(Sentence Practice Game)

    A quick game that can be played as a warm up or end-of-class activity where the students play in teams in hopes of finding diamond by making sentences.
