Weekday Pairs Game

Students ask what day it is to find their matching day of the week. For Let's Try Unit 3.

Kids love the pairs finding game, so I made one to practice saying the days of the week.

How to play:
- Give each student 1 card (the card is a secret to others!)
- In pairs, one student will ask "What day is it?"
- In response, the other student will say the day on their card.
- If they have the same day, they sit on the floor where they are and wait for the others to finish.
- If they have different days, they keep searching.

Once all the students have found their pairs and are sitting, it's time for part 2:
-Have students arrange themselves in order according to their weekdays using ONLY ENGLISH

This game is designed for small classes, but you can scale it up by having students search for 3 or 4 people with the same day. If you have fewer than 14 students, you can play multiple times to make sure you get all the days in. (You can also just play multiple times because the kids usually want to.)

Weekday cards are made with the textbook food images. They make no sense, but putting themselves in order would be too easy if I used the usual elements.

The powerpoint is just for displaying the target dialog. The game is best explained with a demonstration with your JTE.
