Days of the Week Sugoroku

Sugoroku game to practice the days of the week for elementary school

This activity was actually intended for Elementary 2年 but I think it could also be used for other elementary grades! It's a simple A3 sized board with the days of the week written on each square. This will require dice and ideally laminating the sheets to make it more board-like and durable for re-use. I printed out 7 sheets since most of my younger classes don't go over 28 kids.

How to Play:
Ideal group size is around 3-5. Everyone plays rock-paper-scissors (I like to encourage them to do it in English!) to determine order. Then, everyone places their erasers on the starting place.
Before the first person rolls the dice, everyone in the group says "What day is it?" and then after they roll they will move their eraser and say "It's (day of the week they landed on)". Younger kids tend to forget to say this a lot so you might have to walk around and remind them. You can also alter this so only the person rolling has to say it, but I think sometimes it kind of hyped up the person rolling if everyone else was enthusiastic!
If they land on a square that says "Go" this is a warp and they will then move to the new square indicated by an arrow.
You can also choose to implement the rule where kids must roll the exact amount they need to reach the goal or else they will move back. However for the sake of time I have also removed this sometimes.
