Objective:
To identify when to use each pronoun correctly. And, character guessing game!
Set up:
Print 2 sets of the pronoun flashcards and put them in seperate clear files (6 total) - this makes it easier to put them on the board.
Each column of students will be a team. You might need to move a few students to make it even.
Show PPT.
Method:
Elicit the pronouns from the students, and put them up on the board. (You don't need to do this if you have just taught a lesson on pronouns.)
Tell them it's a quiz, and put them into teams.
Show slide 2. Indicate that a character will appear and they have to fill in the blank.
"Do you know him / her / them?"
Tell them it's like KARUTA.
The first student from each team will come to the board (make sure they can see the TV).
Say: "Do you know....?" and show the character.
First student to touch the correct pronoun gets the point.
Then, a bonus point.
The same student, who got the correct pronoun, has a chance for a bonus point.
Ask: "Do you know [correct pronoun]?" get the students to repeat after you for speaking practice.
The student must say: "This is [correct answer]." to win the bonus point.
If they really don't know, give them a 3 second countdown before opening the bonus question to the room.
Usually a few hands go up, choose whoever was first until you get the correct answer.
Then, students swap, and the next player comes to the front.
Keep playing until the end, winning team gets stickers!
NOTE: The NEW version contains extra slides: a practice slide, a 12th question, and if you click the pumpkin gif it will take you to the 'Finish!' slide.
((For formatting, I use: 'Antique Olive Compact' or 'Segoe UI Black' for titles, and 'UD デジタル UK-R' for body text.))
Hey there! I really like this game, but I need to know what filter you used for the sketch images so I can add more characters
Just used this for the first time and my JHS 1st year class really liked it! I added a "how to play" slide to make it a bit easier for the class to understand too. I would also like to know more about how to make the images as blown out as the others. I see the art style tab is being used but when I add pictures it doesn't react the same when using the same effect. Thanks!
