Made this worksheet that the kids can color and cut out shapes from in order to make cards at the end of the unit. I give each student 1 of each page along with a blank sheet of paper that they fold in half. I explain that we're going to make cards and they should color and cut out the shapes, then glue them onto the blank paper to make their cards. They obviously dont need to cut and color every single shape so I tell them to just do the ones that they want for their cards.
I also allow them to make whatever kind of card they want so long as they use the shapes to make it. (of course they can draw within the shapes to make faces and such) If you wanted to limit them to Christmas or New Years cards that can be done, or you can leave it open and up to them, they get pretty creative
For those who do want to make Christmas, New Years, or birthday cards, I write the english greetings on the board for them to copy like,
"Merry Christmas" "Happy New Year" "Happy Birthday"
I jump right into this activity after greetings and most kids only got about halfway done, so I'll be stretching this to two class periods, but if you wanted to only use it for one maybe put a timer where they can see it so they'll know how much time is left lol.
I also like to play background music, specifically Christmas since its December when I'm doing this
