This is my third time teaching "What" to my special needs class, as requested by my JTE. This is just a short PowerPoint for the students to practice reading "What is this?" and "It's a/an..." Only a couple of my special needs students can read romaji, so I’ve added katakana.
There are 7 animals that they need to guess. The animals have different heads! So, all of their answers will be wrong. 🤣
Everyone should read the question "What is this?" and, each time they answer, they should say "It's a/an ____." If the students guess correctly, you can give them stickers as a reward.
At the end of the PPT, there’s a video linked to YouTube. It's from a famous variety show here in Japan, where the contestants need to guess which one is the chocolate.
The students had a really good laugh while trying to guess which animal is the correct one.
