Go over the grammar. After practicing the dialog together a few times, have the students pair up with the student next to them.
Designate one side, left or right, to be the clerk. Have the students perform the dialog in pairs 1 time without switching roles. Then rotate the students so that they are in new pairs.
For both dialogs, instruct the student playing the role of sales clerk to take notes in the spaces provided at the bottom of each side of the worksheet. Make sure that the students playing the role of customer are not filling in those spaces.
On the front page of the activity, clerks should be taking note of what item was purchased and what color it was. On the back page of the activity, clerks should write what was purchased, what the first, expensive price was, and what the discounted price was. To shake things up, I left a space for the clerks to draw a picture of what the customer was looking for. But this can easily be omitted.
Instruct the customer students to fill in the blanks of both dialogs with anything they want.
Repeat the dialog using the same roles as before so that the students on the left play the part of clerk 4 times in a row and the students on the right play customers 4 times in a row or vice versa. Then switch roles.
