  • Character's Clothes

    Students see a small part of a character (a piece of clothing or body part). They guess which character the clothing/body part belongs to.

  • Schedule Tic-Tac-Toe

    Using the classic game, kids practice school subjects, days of the week, and using both in the context of a sentence.

    Students listen to the teacher call out random numbers between 1-20 or 1-100 to complete dot-to-dot handout(s).

  • Kakokei Karuta

    "Kakokei" is Japanese for past tense. Students listen to the teacher read a sentence and slap the correct 'verb card'.

  • Ingurishu

    In this match up activity, students try to match katakanized English with their real English spellings/words.

  • What is this? What is that? Guess the Sound

    Play random sounds and have students in groups guess what they are.

  • Five-by-Five

    Teams receive points based upon their ability to answer questions on a 5-by-5 grid.

  • Cut Out Caterpillar

    This is a task based activity which practices the days of the week. It involves the students making a picture of a caterpillar by colouring, cutting and gluing the pieces.

    Similar to the game Bull$hit, students use a deck of cards to ask each other how many of a certain card they have.

  • What Janken

    Students rotate partners, play janken, interview each other and embrace their artistic skills.

  • World Weird Festivals

    This activity can be a sort of quiz game for the students while practicing the "I think (that)... sentence pattern. Though it can be used with any other grammar lessons, like verb tenses.

  • Random Superheroes

    Students practice "can" grammar by making amusing randomly generated superheroes.

  • Doraemon Is My Brother

    Students take a character card and roll a dice and say a sentence based on the outcome, e.g. "This is Godzilla, he is my dad."

    An information gap activity where students ask their partner to work out the pictures on the worksheet.
