Got this idea after playing a few maps of Geoguessr.
(If you don't know Geoguessr, it's basically a website where you can get dropped into a random location on Google Maps, and you must figure out where you are with only the clues around you.)
I included the pictures, the labels, the game title, and a picture of how I did my English board.
For the answers, the pictures are in the same order as the labels.
Some pictures are easy and some are misleading.
You could possibly make this into a warm-up type quiz as well.
Unsure about what tags to use, so let me know if these work or if I should add any.
Enjoy!
Edit: added the "America or Japan Quiz" file for the version to use in class. I used it with Elementary 3rd n 4th graders at the end of my intro lesson. Lasted about 10 min or less, depending on how drawn out the thinking time is.
Just show the picture with "What's this?", have them think a little, then ask, "Who thinks America?" They'll raise their hands. Then ask, "Who thinks Japan?" The other kids will raise their hands, then show the answer. My elementary students had fun!
hi, i loved the idea so i made a board of my own. i used the photos you provided and places as well. it turned out great and my kids really enjoy it. took a while to make the first time, but successively less time at the next school. keep up the good work
Thanks ! Glad it worked out for u
I am going to super use this concept because my hometown looks like my current place of assignment.
PS
emphasizing on SUPER LOL
Thanks for this! I translated the place names, labels and titles into Japanese for my very low level ES. The kids love anything interactive so this is great!
Someone directed me to this and I will definitely use it and cater it to my country! Thanks for the idea and template.
A perfect short and sweet warm up! This is exactly what I needed. However had to of course update the american flag in the powerpoint as the one you used is from the early 1800s, I won't stand for Ohio erasure ;)
