First, print out however many sheets you need for all your students. There are 4 designs per sheet (star, ball, present, and stocking), sized for B5 or A4 paper. If you have a lot of students, B5 sized printouts might be better, so that they all fit on the board. Have students finish the sentence starter "I want a..." for their Christmas wishes. This can be done as a quick warm-up activity for 10-15 minutes. After you have all he students make an ornament, you can make a Christmas tree out of colored paper and attach it to your English board. After that, pin these ornaments on it.
If you have a lot of students, you could have each class make a tree for their classroom, or draw one on a spare chalkboard in the room and have them attach the ornaments with magnets.
You can also have the teachers make them too! When I did it last year, students enjoyed seeing what their teachers wanted for Christmas. Have fun!
hi :') i'm using this for the second time this year to make a big school christmas tree with everyone's wants for xmas on it. we actually stretch out the whole lesson for fun with it. the kids like fighting for silly places on the tree. really appreciate what you made!
Is there a version of the document without the writing inside? I'd like to instead have the students decorate their own ornaments for my English board! Appreciate the idea!! :)
@laylasensei, one idea is that when your print it out, white out the words before you copy it.
