DETAILED EXPLANATION:
- Hand out scratch paper to each student. You shouldn't have to supply crayons because the students should have their own.
- Quickly review body parts, colors, numbers up to 10; and if students seem up to the challenge, shapes.
- You might want to draw on the board the order of adjectives which you will describe the monster --number, color, then body part.
- Then, start making statements like, “My monster has one big round blue body,” or “My monster has three orange triangle heads.”
- Explain slowly, and demonstrate on the chalkboard how the students should be drawing their monsters. The placement of body parts is up to students so long as they have the correct number and colors.
VARIATIONS:
- Draw your own monster while you explain it to the students and compare pictures when finished.
- If time permits, have the students name their monsters. Have the HRT write the categories - cute, scary, cool and weird - on the chalkboard. Then, you and the HRT choose a category for each picture and attach them to the chalkboard. Usually the boys will draw scary, cool, and weird pictures; while the girls will draw "cute monsters," if there is such a thing.
Pumpkin Drawing: (submitted by: Sandy Dennis)
- Students draw a face on a pumpkin according to the ALT's instructions: 2 big eyes, 1 small nose, 3 long mouths, etc.
- When finished with the pumpkin side of the worksheet, turn the paper over and have the students draw a monster according to your instructions.

- Review the vocabulary students have studied and allow them to use their creativity to draw their own monster.
概要： 色や数字、体の部分や形についての英語の知識を使って、生徒はＡＬＴの指示通りにモンスターの絵を描きます。
手順：
- わら半紙を生徒たちに配る。クレヨンは生徒たちが持っているはずだから、配布しなくても良いだろう。
- 「色」や「1から10の数字」、もし生徒がもっとチャレンジできるように思えたら、「形」なども一緒に、すばやく簡単に復習する。（たぶん）黒板で描くの順を書いたほうがいい：例えば、個数、色、体の部分 (一の緑腕)。
- モンスターを表現する為の、数字や色、体の部分などの形容詞となる言葉は、黒板に書いておいたほうがいい。
- それから、ALT は”My monster has one big round blue body.”「私のモンスターは大きくて丸くて青い体をしています」とか、”My monster has three orange triangle heads”「私のモンスターはオレンジ色をした三つの三角形の頭をしています」というような説明を始める。
- ゆっくり説明しながら、ALTは黒板に、どのようにモンスターを描けばよいか、お手本を示す。体の部分をどのように描くかは数字や色が正しく書かれている限り、生徒の自由。
バリエーション：
- 生徒達に説明しながら、自分のモンスターを描いて、皆が描き終わったところで比べてみるといいでしょう。
- 時間があれば、生徒達が描いた自分たちのモンスターにそれぞれ名前をつけてみましょう。HRTは黒板に「かわいい」「こわい」「かっこいい」「へん」という4つの種類を書きます。そして、ALTとHRTは生徒たちの描いた絵がどれにあてはまるか分類して、黒板に貼ります。一般的に男子の生徒は「怖い、かっこいい、変な」モンスターを、女子の生徒は、そう言えるかどうか分かりませんが、「かわいい」モンスターを描く傾向にあります。
教える際のアドバイス：
- 簡単な英語を日本語につい翻訳してしまいがちですが、日本語を使わずに生徒と一緒にモンスターの絵を描くようにしましょう。生徒に説明したりするとこの授業の目的が台無しになってしまいますから、説明は無しです。
