Sugoroku Board Game with Gestures

Students can enjoy making their own unique board and doing gestures.

First, use slides 1-20 to teach the vocabulary.
Next, play keyword game or Simon says (or both) to practice the vocab.
Next, use slides 21-32 to show how to play and use English related to the game.
Finally, make groups, have them make the board, and start playing.

This lesson was a ton of fun. Kids respond REALLY well to TPR (total physical response) activities like Simon says, it takes a lot of energy though.

If you prefer to use normal dice you can ignore slide 22, but I thought it was such a neat trick I should share it.

Three options for making the sugoroku boards:

(Maximum creativity)
Print slide 33 and have students write or draw in the blanks freely.
(Zero creativity)
Print slide 34 for a pre-made board.
(Creativity minus the writing time)
Print both slide 33 and 34 and have students cut out and paste OR write freely.
